From bars down to filled rolls
The food range in the convenience shop
As integral parts of the food range in a kiosk, a petrol station and in convenience shops, Lekkerland recommends sweets, savouries and drinks. Fast food offers such as filled rolls, filled croissants and even hot-dogs are increasingly being requested by the consumers.
Typical buyers in convenience shops look for quick, comfortable and friendly shopping. They don't have much time, above all want something, but avoid price and product comparisons. This is something the shop manager ought to pay attention to in the selection and presentation of his food ranges. He frequently has recourse to his favourite product, but is also quite open for experiments. New introductions with strong advertising are soon worth a try for him.
Lekkerland has a food range of about 6,000 articles with national and regional variations. All told, classical ranges such as sweets are stagnating on a high level. But things look different with non-alcoholic beverages: measured against the market, non-alcoholic beverages are developing over-proportionately at petrol stations and kiosks. The reason for this difference is mainly to be found in the innovative force which precisely non-alcoholic beverages have in the convenience area. In particular, ice coffees, ice teas, energy drinks and water without or with only low amounts of carbonic acid are currently very much in demand.
