Lekkerland names Kay Schiebur as Chief Operating Officer for Purchasing and Logistics
Rikus Kolster appointed a new member of the Group Executive Committee
To sharpen its focus on the areas of purchasing and logistics, effective 1 December 2008, Lekkerland AG & Co. KG is creating a portfolio for this purpose at the Board of Management level and vesting this responsibility with Kay Schiebur, who will serve as Chief Operating Officer (COO). ‘As we continue to fine-tune our European profile, we see additional potential in both areas, which we would like to improve through clear direction along the supply chain’, remarks Christian Berner, CEO of Lekkerland AG & Co. KG. Up until now, both logistics and purchasing have been part of his portfolio. As a result, from 1 December Rikus Kolster, Senior Vice President Corporate Purchasing, will be reporting to Kay Schiebur. At the same time, Lekkerland has appointed Rikus Kolster to its Group Executive Committee, which serves as a management steering committee.
Kay Schiebur (40) brings to his new role many years' experience as logistics manager and has been with Lekkerland since 2002.
Initially, he had responsibility for logistics, as well as procurement at the entirely German company. Beginning in 2004, he accompanied Lekkerland in its European expansion. He has served as Executive Vice President Corporate Logistics, and as a member of the Group Executive Committee, since January 2007.
